We take referrals from midwives, health visitors, GPs, paediatricians, dieticians and children’s centre staff. Local parents are also able to self-refer by telephone and email.

Before your visit

Please ensure you bring you child health record (red book) along to the consultation.

During your visit

It will be necessary to observe you feeding your baby to make a full assessment. A plan of care will be devised together and you and you will have time to ask questions and discuss your options. The red book will be used to document the plan as required.

After your visit

You may be asked to return for review, or contacted at home or by telephone. If you are referred to another department or hospital you will be provided with information and contact details as appropriate.
