Three inspiring teams have been shortlisted for the 2025 Nursing Times Awards across four categories. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at JW Mariott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London on Wednesday 22 October 2025.
The integrated critical care research programme has been nominated for the Clinical Research Nursing Award. The team carry out research ranging from small-scale studies to large international clinical trials, including the RECOVERY trial which tests multiple treatments for patients hospitalised with COVID-19. Their extraordinary work has helped to answer important questions about the best ways to treat patients with life-threatening conditions, which will benefit other critically ill patients in the future.
The Aspirant Cancer and Education Development (ACCEND) international nurse development project has been nominated for the Dame Elizabeth Anionwu Award for Inclusivity in Nursing and Midwifery. Run by Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, the ACCEND project provides career guidance and education, training, learning and development opportunities for nurses, allied health professionals and pharmacists who care for people affected by cancer.
The blended roles programme has been nominated for two awards, Nursing in the Community Award and The King’s Award for Integrated Approaches to Care. The blended roles programme led to the recruitment of the first ever blended roles facilitator in Greater Manchester. The delegation works across both health and social care services to empower, educate and implement the programme, which helps upskill carers. The continued support of the district nursing teams has improved working relationships and communication between services for patients.
These awards bring together the nursing community to shine a light on the brightest talent in the profession.
