Outstanding dedication, service and care at local NHS services in both Tameside and Stockport were celebrated at the CARE awards at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Friday 23rd October.
These were the first joint staff and volunteer awards for the South East Sector Health Care Partnership between both Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, running both hospital and community services in these areas.
The name of the CARE awards reflects the trusts’ shared values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Bringing colleagues together for a shared staff awards ceremony reflects the growing collaboration between the two trusts.
They recognised the fantastic care and commitment across the hugely diverse array of staff groups and disciplines which make up local NHS services serving the people of Stockport, Tameside, Glossop, the High Peak and beyond.
The awards were nominated by both colleagues within the services.
Hosted by Greatest Hits Radio presenter Andy Crane in the grand surroundings of the Midland, they included a celebration dinner and disco for everyone shortlisted, a fun ‘Traitors’ themed game as prelude, and fundraising was held for the trust’s respective charities too.
Funding for the evening came from Tameside NHS Charity, Stockport NHS Charity, , and local sponsors. The evening’s main sponsors were In Health, Weightmans, Clinysis and Ottobock. Secondary sponsors were SF Taylor, Bates Business Productivity Services, SoftCat, Liaison Group, Medica, Canon, Copeland Group, RPG Medical, Meel Group, Ralph Livesey Ltd, Paul Bentley Wholesale, QuidelOrtho, Consort Healthcare, Ricoh, Atlas Logistics and Spark TSL.
The awards were presented by South East Sector Health Care Partnership Chair David Wakefield and Chief Executive Karen James OBE, together with representatives of the sponsors.
Karen James said: “It was fantastic to have a joint awards ceremony for both Stockport and Tameside and Glossop NHS colleagues for the first time, representing the strong and effective partnership between us. There were so many different examples of compassion and dedication on display from both individuals and teams here at the CARE awards, all of which makes us so proud to be part of our local NHS. And it was great to see everyone shortlisted enjoying themselves so much too.
"I’d like to thank Andy Crane for being a great presenter, and to Tameside NHS Charity, Stockport NHS Charity and all our sponsors for making the evening possible.”
