When Angie, who works in the café at Morrisons Dukinfield, decided to do something special for charity, she really went for it - cutting 19 inches off her hair to raise funds for patients receiving cancer treatment at the Tameside Macmillan Unit.

Supported by her wonderful regular customers and colleagues, Angie’s brave decision raised an amazing £1,660 for Tameside & Glossop NHS Charity.

And the good news didn’t stop there. To celebrate the Morrisons Foundation’s 10th anniversary, the Foundation has been doubling colleagues’ match funding for a limited time. That means Angie’s total has now been boosted by a further £2,000 contribution, bringing her grand total to an incredible £3,660.

Speaking about her fundraising, Angie said she was overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of her café customers, many of whom sponsored her cut and cheered her on every step of the way.

“I wanted to do something meaningful to give back,” Angie said.

“The Macmillan Unit helps so many people locally, and I’m just glad I could do my bit.”

The money raised will go towards supporting patients receiving cancer treatment in Tameside and Glossop, helping to provide comfort, care and those special extras that make a difficult journey a little easier.

The charity would like to say a huge thank you to Angie for her incredible fundraising, and to all her customers and colleagues at Morrisons Dukinfield for their wonderful support. Together, you’ve made a real difference.
