Patients are advised of upcoming works along Fountain Street outside our Emergency Department due to the ongoing redevelopment.
From Monday 16 October, for a period of approximately six weeks, there will be various service diversions undertaken along the road area which may impact movement around the Hospital site. Further details will be shared ahead of each phase of works so the potential impact can be noted.
Phase One will commence on Monday 16 October, resulting in the reduction of Fountain Street outside Astley Building and the multi-storey car park to one lane for a period of two weeks. Temporary traffic lights will be in place during this period and, as such, traffic flow may be slower than normal.
As a result of these essential works, it is also possible that the use of the bus stop on Fountain Street will be affected. Relevant plans for buses will be put in place by Transport for Greater Manchester.
Access to the multi-storey car park and pedestrian access will be unaffected during this time.
