A department which is responsible for the administration of diagnostic lung function tests and of procedures to restore optimum respiratory health.
Our team is comprised of consultants, specialty doctors, a senior respiratory nurse, a respiratory and oxygen nurse, a tuberculosis specialist nurse and a paediatric respiratory specialist nurse.
Our consultant-led services provide the following:
- Care for respiratory inpatients over two wards
- Consultant outpatient clinics for suspected cancer and other respiratory referrals
- Bronchoscopy service performed on-site
Our nurse-led respiratory services provide the following:
- Home-oxygen-validation service across the Tameside area
- Screening for Tuberculosis (Tb)
- Clinics for oxygen, post-asthma admission and complex respiratory taking place in outpatient clinics
- In-reach to respiratory and acute wards
- Facilitating complex oxygen discharges
