Patients are advised of a change of location for our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) as a result of the ongoing Emergency Department redevelopment work.
Treatment in our UTC will now take place across two separate areas:
· Blue Suite, Hartshead Building for minor ailments and illness
· Green Suite, Hartshead Building for minor injuries
If you have pre-booked to be seen via NHS111, you will be told which location to attend for your appointment.
If you have not pre-booked visit our Accident & Emergency reception, where our team will direct you to the most appropriate service for your needs.
We recommend using the NHS111 service at 111.nhs.uk before attending our Emergency Department to ensure you are receiving the most appropriate treatment for your symptoms. Having a pre-booked appointment can help avoid long waits and helps us manage patient flow.
The former UTC entrance on Fountain Street, close to the Accident and Emergency Department entrance, is now closed.
These changes are expected to be in effect until early 2024.
