The Children’s Unit is a 15 bedded inpatient unit based in the Hartshead South building on the first floor and provides nursing and medical care for children aged between 0 to 16 years of age (up until their 16th birthday) with a variety of medical, surgical, orthopaedic, ear, nose and throat, dental and gynaecological problems.

The Children’s Observation and Assessment Unit is a short stay decision making area where your child can be assessed, investigated, and observed, prior to being discharged home, or admitted to the inpatient ward. We care for children aged between 0 to 16 years of age (up until their 16th birthday). It is co-located next to the Children’s Unit.

The Children’s Outpatient Department offers a suitable environment for children and their families to attend appointments. Play is provided for children and young people of all ages.
